Where’s Novak when we really need him?

  • We privatize your value says:

He has a great backhand and tries his hands at Bach. It’s all very logical, really.

    • pcouture says:

Actually Roger’s backhand is his weak point, which is the reason his rivals hit to it, stroke after stroke. Roger is class, though, so the above makes sense.

      • We privatize your value says:

Right, but: “For those reasons, not only is Federer’s backhand, in no way, a weakness in his game, it is in fact the best backhand on tour due its versatility, beauty, and effectiveness.”

      • Gregor Tassie says:

Sorry in the last two years Roger’s backhand is much improved, and this helped him greatly in winning his last three grand slam victories.

      • Dennis says:

His backhand may not be the strongest aspect of his game, but it is not “weak” by any objective measure, (only relatively so compared to his all-time great serve and forehand – and drop shot and excellent volleying as well).

Only Nadal, with his extremely high-topspin, lefty forehand has been able consistently to break down Federer’s backhand (though by slicing less and taking the ball more on he rise in the last couple years, he has negated Nadal’s advantages against him as well in their last 4 head-to-head matches).

  • 18mebrumaire says:

Bach by Federer; shortened and improved.

  • Daphnis says:

Does anyone else ever fantasize that SlippedDisc might occasionally fulfill its potential by addressing real MUSICAL concerns instead of sartorial criticism, nationalistic bashing, lurid details of personal deviance, counting the number of females in every ensemble, and every other non-artistic sensationalist irrelevance that can be thrown into a cauldron of negativity?

  • Rogelia Manso says:

    Excellent ,Roger!

  • Rogelia Manso says:

Well done in attempts to play the piano and as a product authentic representative.

  • Patrick says:

Good ol’ Jean Seller Bach. I’m sure this will net him a nice sum, though one wonders why he’d involve himself in such a racket. Must have taken a while to court him. I do commend him for having the balls to play Bach in public. Love it.

  • V.Lind says:

He could just as easily have been playing some popular piece. I think it’s a good thing that someone as universally admired and both attractive and accomplished should show he plays classical music for pleasure.

  • Cyril says:

    Jeggings, ugh. Horrifying trousers.
