he was guest conductor at the Bolshoi, no?

  • David Murphy says:

Never heard of him but sorry to hear of his passing. Now Theo Adam, the celebrated (East) German bass-baritone, has passed on 10th Jauary aged 92 in his birthplace Dresden.

I would love Slipped Disc to collect our thoughts, favourite performances and recordings. Personally, I love his Lieder singing especially Wolf as on Eterna LPs and of course Wotan at Bayreuth conducted by Karl Bohm, but then there is also Bach with the Leipzig Thomaschor (Eterna/Berlin Classics) and for Karl Richter on Archiv. A favourite of mine – a magnificent Landgrave in Otto Gerdes TANNHAUSER on DG.
