Yeah, it used used to be cool to have a tear at the knee.

But the pocket hole’s a bit crass.

There must be somewhere in Munich he can buy a used pair of jeans.

this is just a rehearsal and he is at the age he still can wear such a wear 😉

    • urania says:

Sorry – I am always sad that people pay money to wear torn cloths, many people on this planet are not able to pay for new cloths. Truely a shame and now even as luxury designer items. 🙁

      • Krait says:

The hell does it matter what he’s wearing? Get over yourselves.

        • urania says:

Sorry – I am well and you should accept different oppinions. The world is in a mess because all are fighting against each other. Torn cloths buying is for me an insult…

          • Brettermeier says:

“The world is in a mess because all are fighting against each other. Torn cloths buying is for me an insult…”

Maybe it’s stupid to be insulted by holes in other people cloth? Just an idea.

            Let’s fight over it! 😀

          • Krait says:

Then your priorities in life are messed up. So much more in the world that’s insulting…

          • Bill says:

How do you know the holes weren’t put there naturally? I’m wearing just such a pair myself today!

          • Sue Sonata Form says:

I’m presently wearing ONLY the holes!!

          • Larry Dankel says:

The world is in a mess because some people are too easily insulted and can’t keep it to themselves. Just my “oppinion”.

    • Lydia Wahlberg says:

      No he isn’t!

    • AMetfan says:

Sorry, but that age is about 20, regardless of the condition of your body. That would be about 30 years ago in this case.

  • anon says:

A fashion designer thought a long time, by trial and error, to come up with that hole at that place, just as much as Beethoven tortured himself over which note to place at which passage in a symphony.

A pair of designer jeans is a symphony, a misplaced note is like a misplaced horn call in the Eroica.

  • Fan says:

No, he has great legs and those holes are awesome.

    • Saskia says:

Where do you see great legs? I’m afraid you never saw really good men’s legs before. So sorry for him, no voice anymore, not able to buy jeans for his age…..

      • I just remember a “Figaro” at the Royal Opera House somewhen around the late 80ties. As Count Almaviva came on the stage, wearing a long blue dressing coat and some “pyjamas” under neat, a lady behind me whispered to her friend: “Oh my God, look at these legs!” And her friend gave back “He’s sex on legs!”
And indeed – even today Sir Thomas Allen, the owner of these “sexy legs” can show them (and did so two years before in an Ades Production).

    • Great legs? Well, one can’t debate about taste, can one? I mean Ms Naked Mule probably thinks her husband’s legs sexy …

  • Cynical Bystander says:

Showing your age. There are are a large number of outlets in Munich, as everywhere, else selling distressed jeans, mostly at what many would consider stressful prices. The holes are artfully placed, the more holes, the more they cost. JK seems to wear his well and it will be a few more years before he needs the elasticated waist comfort trousers beloved of the back pages of the weekly supplements.

  • Monsoon says:

Distressed clothing has been fashionable since the 1990s…

  • JayBee says:

He should fix the hole in his voice methinks

  • Bruce says:

I was going to comment “Who cares?” …but it looks like the question has already been answered. :/

  • Lydia Wahlberg says:

He is too old to wear torn jeans. Now I know what is meant by Eurotrash. Now all the Kaufmann groupies will come at me.

    • Bill says:

I’m not a Kaufmann fan. I am curious what makes someone “too old” to wear distressed clothing. Could you explain? Seems like you should wear what you like, and let everyone else wear what they like. This isn’t Andrea Bocelli we are talking about — Kaufmann can see what he looks like.

    • Mate says:

And all the “torn jeans” groupies. Please tell me about the ideal age until a grown man can wear torn jeans? I really should go to work now but I’m standing here undressed, feeling too old or maybe too young, confused about my limitations! Help me, Lydia please and Mr. Kaufmann as well, he is hopefully reading your post!
By the way, Slipped Disc, what a shame…

    • Sue Sonata Form says:

“Take them off”. That’s my advice to him!!

  • Cyril says:

Crass in what sense? Neatness, or physicality? Perhaps whether it’s vulgar or not depends on the size of other things, and whether they might threaten to make an appearance.

  • Carter says:

Jonas is a great artist whose work brings joy to millions and makes this world a better place to live in. His his name and his art will be remembered down through the years, unlike the author of this pointlessly stupid discussion.

  • Sue Sonata Form says:

If he chooses to wear more clothes with holes oh, how I’ll love those holes!!

  • Mark says:

Nobody can stir the pot like Norman. Good work!

  • I don’t think it’s a question of age if one should wear such jeans or not. However, it’s one of taste. As long as there are people in the world who can’t afford proper gear and are forced to wear rags, I find it somehow “decadent” to make distressed jeans with holes to a pretty expansive fashion style. And as long as (expansive) jeans are often made by under paid people who risk their health with the chemicals used for colouring and the distressed look I wouldn’t buy such pieces.

  • Kathy Crowe says:

He could wear pajamas, as long as he’s singing. Who cares?
