Variety has first shot from The Song of Names
mainVariety has been given exclusive access to the first-look image from “The Song of Names,” starring Clive Owen and Tim Roth. HanWay Films is selling the film at the American Film Market.
Jeffrey Caine wrote the screenplay, based on the novel by Norman Lebrecht. The original score is by Howard Shore.

Tim Roth was amazing in the Legend of 1900, he is a great musical actor.
Congratulations, Norman, on making it to Hollywood!
However I saw the revival of M. Butterfly last year starring Clive Owen in the lead role of Rene, twice, once at the beginning and once at the end of the run. In that role at least Owen was a real disappointment. In fact, seldom have I seen a play, and I see a lot of theater, so miscast, and I include community theater and even high school productions. He was very suave and debonair saying that he was an insecure nerd, not being one, which the role required. He was a little better the second time I saw him in the role but still not great.
Although by acting in movies where there can be many takes, he can have a better shot, perhaps, at getting into the character, I question how Owen will do playing a musician who is under tremendous pressure and fearing for his life. He just acts too self assured, or at least it seemed so to me.
