Sir Peter Jonas, former head of English National Opera and Bavarian State Opera, has shared with us two portraits that appear in the next exhibition of photographs by Barbara Luisi, wife of the condutor Fabio Luisi.

These extraordinary compositions require no commentary.

Peter, 72, is undergoing cancer treatment in Switzerland.

Send good thoughts his way.

  • Lady Weidenfeld says:

Dear Peter We miss you greatly in London, even after all these years! You have struggled a long time with this illness and I know you will win. You have strength and willpower like no-one I know. The ENO was never better than under your care, Munich flourished under you. I send you my love from London and hope to see you soon again

…looks like that lady tried to improvise ( or deliberately imitate) Bosch and Cranach the elder simultaneously … tastes differ though,… definitely is not my cup of tea…. wish that gentleman speedy recovery, I know what is surgery, one of the most unpleasant things I’ve ever experienced ….
PS I personally prefer impressionists, like C.Monet , some marinists are fine also ( Aivazovsky and R.Bonington are of favs) , pointillists also count …. just so , a rant on the subject
