Aleksandra Kurzak has dropped out of tonight’s Traviata.

Ailyn Perez will make an unscheduled Paris debut.

 

These Violettas get younger and younger.

    Sorry to hear about Kurzak. However, Ailyn Perez is a talented, outstanding soprano. I have enjoyed her singing since her student days at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. Paris will love her!

    With all due respect to a very fine artist, 39 is not that young to sing Violetta. Paris is very lucky.

    Considering that real-life muse, Marie Duplessis died at the age of 23, there is no such thing as a too young Violetta Valéry.
