The artistic director of the Jena Philharmonic, Juliane Wandel, has gone.

The orchestra says it is of her own volition, and both sides have committed to non-disclosure.

Wandel is Jena’s third orchestra chief this decade.

Maybe they need new glasses.

Comments

  • Suzanne says:

They certainly need a new search process.

  • RW2013 says:

A year in Jena would drive anyone crazy.

  • John Rook says:

If they need new glasses, Jena is certainly the right place to be.

  • Don Giovanni says:

Juliane Wandel was organizing the orchestra academy of Berlin Philharmonic and wasn’t suited for organizing with structure and a plan as well.
A very unsympathetic, negative person as well.
    I guess Jena is relieved.

    • Max Grimm says:

Your points notwithstanding, I don’t know if relief is the appropriate sentiment, considering Jena has run through three Intendanten in as many years.
