The German conductor, hospitalised for more than a month with a blood infection, has told the Bild newspaper that he is ‘in hellish pain’.

Frantz, 74, says bacteria have irreparably damaged two vertebrae in his back. They will be removed and replaced with steel plates.

We wish Justus better.

Not very dignified showing him in a hospital bed.

« We wish Justus better. » ?? Not very dignified as well.
Reads like a Trump tweet. Sad.

    • Bruce says:

      Dear Norman:

Only formal, dignified expressions of sympathy are allowed. Please make a note of it.

And do something about your hair.

Here’s to a speedy and full recovery

  • Bruce says:

I’ve seen patients with conditions like this and it is indeed a hellishly painful experience. The spinal cord receives signals from the peripheral nervous system regarding pain & sensation. If the spinal cord is being constantly irritated by swelling & increased pressure, it’s constantly sending pain signals to the brain, which of course interprets them as the real thing. (If your phone is ringing, it sounds the same whether it’s your best friend or a telemarketer. Brains don’t have customizable ring tones.)

  • Jeffrey Biegel says:

Pray for his recovery. So very sad.
