Very sad news. He was part of the best period Mac, before a couple of Americans joined and turned them into a ‘West Coast pop group’. RIP Danny.. you’ll not be forgotten by all us early Mac fans.

Apples and oranges. Heaven forbid that FM should have songs that are catchy, memorable and popular. It amazes me the number of people who take them to task for having become a ‘pop group’. How many other ’70s groups – bands of that period – were nearly as good? And as good as the earlier incarnations of FM were, how many truly memorable songs came out of those earlier times? . . . not a tremendous number. Still, I very much appreciate the contribution Danny Kirwin made. He was a fine musician.

What’ll be interesting is to hear what the newest incarnation will actually sound like, or if that even works. Mick Fleetwood seems to think that this the start of whole new chapter.

Sheesh! – I wish one could edit here. That last sentence should read: “Mick Fleetwood seems to think that this will be the start of a whole new chapter”.
