I don’t understand why Israel and Australia are allowed to compete in the EUROvision competition.
Eurovision has nothing to do with geography. It’s a state of mind.

It’s because they are members of the European Broadcasting Union … the EBU. In the case of Israel (whose TV service was set up with the help of a BBC TV man, Stuart Hood), from the earliest days of the EBU in 1950.
