The Russian saxophone player Matvey Sherling, a media star from the age of 13, was found dead yesterday in his Moscow apartment.

    “Gerge Gershwin”?

    • THOMAS KAUFMAN says:

Matvey is now “accompanying” the Choir of Angles from above. May GOD always keep him in His Glory.
His Parents Yuri and Alysia, and his sisters Alexandra and Mariamna have large holes in their hearts that will never be repaired and those of us who knew and loved Mayvey will always remember his music, his talents and most of all his politeness and smile that any grandmother would love to call her own grandson’s.
Unfortunately, millions will never have their hearts and souls transcended by the soft power of his music
      RIP Matvey…Thomas.

  • Zalman says:

What kind of performer was he?

    • Winger says:

A Russian performer? A teen-aged performer? Perhaps you could listen to one of the recordings that are linked here? Do you want other people to tell you what to think?

  • David Meyer says:

Who knows why or how he died, but that astonishing performance of the Glazunov contains in the slow movement a cry from the heart, a cry for help, if ever I heard one.
