Rising mezzo-soprano makes the most of red hair

The Canadian mezzo-soprano Wallis Giunta – Young Singer of the Year at the 2018 International Opera Awards – is appearing in a hair-care commercial.

Whatever she uses, I’m getting some.

  • CYM says:

Also used for the bow’s hair of the Red Violin

  • Caravaggio says:

Between her and Khatia Buniatishvili, the hair care industry is safe. But good or important music making?

    • Emil says:

It is the downfall of classical music as we know it!!!!!

Oh wait, what artists do on their free time has absolutely no incidence on their music-making abilities. Never mind…

  • Larry says:

Any relation to conductor Joseph Giunta?

  • Barry Guerrero says:

Move over Barbara Hannigan! Oh wait . . . Hannigan is a soprano. Maybe they could do some Mozart or Handel together in one of those ‘racy’ productions.

She is just a touch too ‘perfect’ – her voice is lacking warmth and timbre. That’s why her Carmen debut in Leipzig somehow did not please the critics and the audience (as I was told).
