Music professor dies after bicycle crash
mainRebecca Tyree, assistant professor of choral music education at Richmond, Virginia, has died of injuries sustained last week when she was knocked off her bicycle while riding with her partner. She was 62.
Rebecca joined Virginia Commonwealth University in 2000 after teaching 25 years in public schools.
What a sad, sad event.
Becky was a kind, thoughtful person who truly loved teaching and shared the gift of music with all those around her. I know she positively impacted hundreds of her students during her teaching career – so many of them benefitted from just being her student.
I will miss her.
