  • Barry Guerrero says:

He’s using dynamics. I thought the hallmark of any ECM recording artist is his/her remarkable lack of dynamics.

  • Andrey says:

Close friend. Great musician, and jazz composer, who was teaching improvisation in Oslo, Norway after leaving Russia many years ago. His group Moscow Art Trio brought etno jazz to the new level. But his solo albums are not less interesting, especially ECM albums. Plenty of his music in YouTube. If you never heard about Misha Alperin- go and listen. for example
Misha… I lived with his music since we met many years ago. Once we even did common project with Moscow Art Trio and Berner Sinfonieorchester. Unforgettable experience.
I can’t believe he wont call me one day again, and wont send me his new composition, recorded at home in suburb of Oslo…
You were very thankful person. Gratitide was one of your favorite words.
Now is my turn to say: thank you, Misha.
    RIP

  • Jason Weiss says:

I loved his music, the few records I knew. First heard him on the French label Silex, “Prayer” (1994). Sorry he’s gone, a great voice.

  • Kim Kristensen says:

    Wonderful original pianist and composer.

  • Elena says:

Mischa’s music has no parallel. Truly interstellar.
