Myron Michailidis, artistic director of the National Opera of Greece, has been named Generalmusikdirektor in Erfurt, central Germany.

He succeeds Joana Mallwitz, who has gone on to bigger things.

  • DT says:

    Ex Artistic Director

    • Aria da capo says:

      And a quite controversial one……

      • Mike London says:

You not at all right. Michailidis was one, maybe the most successful artistic director in the history of the greek national opera. He presented historic productions like Tristan for the first time in Greece, he made the opera popular in Greece and won new public for the institution. He is also a charismatic conductor and personality.

  • Musician says:

He will stay just two seasons there. They are already looking for the next one from 2020/21.
