Ahead of its first European tour this month, the Orchestre Métropolitain is getting branded up with Quebec labels, who are kitting out the musicians in new gear and shoes.

‘Yannick wants the orchestra to look modern,’ says Marie Saint-Pierre, the costume designer.

Shoes are supplied by Aldo.

This orchestra is going to look chic and neat.

    Full of sound and fairy…

    • Herr Doktor says:

That’s neither clever nor funny, RW2013. It just demonstrates you’re a homophobic jerk.

For what it’s worth, that brand of homophobia went out of fashion in the 20th century. If you want to be a current homophobe, start spouting instead about needing to protect young girls in public bathrooms*.

(excluding malls where certain Alabama judges are known to frequent)

      What scintillating wit!

      Damn homophobic

  • Bruce says:

Anything that looks presentable and is comfortable for playing in (and doesn’t make men look like servants) gets my vote.

  • Elizabeth Owen says:

The best dressed orchestra I ever saw was the Tokyo ? Philharmonic. They looked wonderful as each section was colour coded e.g. navy, slate blue, silver etc. The men wore trousers which were wide and pleated and they looked gorgeous. Sadly, for some reason I don’t remember the ladies at all

Mirga has great arms, she always shows them off in sleeveless wear to great effect.

Karajan had great hair, he always gelled it and blew dry it to great effect.

Yannick has great pecs and butt, he needs to wear the tight white shirt, but shorter not to cover his lower body, for greatest effect.

Hey, as long as we’ve already gone down that path, right?

  • Cyril Blair says:

The proportions are terrible, at least in the top pic. He seems to be wearing a dress. Good design is all about proportions.
