Death of an Italian tenor, 91

Opera Nostalgia reports the death in Cecina of Gaetano Bardini, a fine tenor who spent much of his career in Prague, where he was revered and extensively recorded on Supraphon.

Bardini twice replaced Franco Corelli at the Met in Fanciulla and scored a famous success at San Carlo with Cavalleria Rusticana, his signature role.
