The opera and musicals singer Gregory Cross has been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He has been given eight months to live.

His only hope is an experimental form of cancer surgery called IRE (Irreversible Electroporation/NanoKnife), which uses electrical impulses to shrink tumours and is being developed in the UK and Germany.

Friends are raising funds in an effort to fly him next week to the UK. He is still $28,000 short.

  • Oscar says:

Stage 4 means metastatic disease and no option for any kind of experiment.life is limited, sometimes we have to remember.

    • Emil says:

With all due respect, that depends Stage IV ‘what’. You’re right it means metastatic cancer. You are very wrong to say it automatically means incurable. If the doctors say the experimental treatment might have a chance, are you really going to contradict them on the basis of one summary blog post?

  • Una Barry says:

Why the do we have SO many die of pancreatic cancer, including two on my.own family, in Britain and Ireland?

    Sincerely hope he gets better.

    • Sue says:

Same; my mother at 58 and my grandmother at 93. The former a smoker the latter not. Unspeakable horror. No survival at Stage 4. Three months tops.

  • Robert Mathews says:
