The rising French pianist was stacking shelves in a supermarket until a suburban teacher of Russian origin put him on the path to stardom.

Now, Rena Shereshevskaya gives masterclasses in Paris for adult pianists with professional lives.

    she teaches at Ecole Normal Cortot, is it suburban?

      I think it’s in the 17th, Boulevard Malesherbes, but I might be wrong as I can’t be bothered to look it up. I used to walk past it all the time, though.

        She’s teaching at both École Normale (Paris 17th) and Conservatoire de Rueil-Malmaison (in the west suburbs).
