I believe Jim Carr, in his earlier days, studied with the legendary Marc Lifschey.
He did, indeed, study with Lifschey. The lucky man!

Yes! Finally: a politician who can prove his genuine connection with music and be a role model. He is not the only one – pace Edward Heath, Helmut Schmidt… But there are fewer and fewer of them, especially in this side of the Atlantic.
Don’t forget our Emmanuel Macron in France: by all accounts, a good pianist. And our new finance minister who recently wrote a novel based on Carlos Kleiber.
Now that’s a novel I’d like to read, if only I had French!!
