It used to be all Jane Birkin…. Now it’s Khatia Buniatishvili.

Comments

  • Momus says:

Oscar Petersen she is not. And the piano is out of tune.

  • Ungeheuer says:

Please please PLEASE not her again

  • Brian says:

French TV stations must have something going on with this pianist. It seems like every week we see a new video of her, and they’re all French.

Of course, here in the U.S., even an incredibly attractive and/or talented pianist wouldn’t get the time of day on PBS anymore, let alone on a major network.

    • Max Grimm says:

Her living in Paris and holding French citizenship may explain the French TV and French language bit.

      • Brian says:

Interesting, I didn’t realize she lived there, though she seems to have an impressive command of French given that it’s presumably not her first language.

Kudos probably go to her publicist too…

        • Camellia Hill says:

This virtuoso speaks 5 languages: her native Georgian, French, Russian, German and English! All fluently too. Khatia is impressive on many levels.

  • Martin Richard says:

    Wonderful woman and wonderful pianist.

She is not doing what it has already been done before.

The way she’s playing put the critics up and that is very thrilling.

  • Bobby Brown says:

Those pseudo-intracoital facial twitchings are becoming rather faded with each subsequent video. Serge Forward and Jane Firkin did it better, although that was decades back.

  • Bruce says:

I get tired of the way the camera dwells on her face, but I do like listening to her playing.

  • Peter says:

when you saw her last time in TV and think: it can’t get any lower, worse taste, and more kitschy, and then she proves you wrong…

  • Manifest Yam says:

    Serge’s new Yé-Yé girl?
