It was quite a shock to see recent photos published in the June Gramophone that were almost unrecognisable. I sincerely hope he gets well soon.
Sadly it is reported that he died today .
His death has been just announced (https://magazin.klassik.com/news/teaser.cfm?ID=13497). He will be missed. May he rest in peace.
