  • Richard Gibbs says:

There are rumours locally here in Manchester that the Halle’s CEO, John Summers, will be taking over as the first Headmaster of the new music school. He was recently spotted at Ede & Ravenscroft in Cambridge trying on a mortar board and gown.

Well, it if it happens it is bound to be good. Stoke on Trent?

London had a specialist state music school that closed down a few years ago – it was Pimlico Comprehensive and all the teachers were from the visiting orchestras et al but it wasn’t funded by an orchestra as I suspect this one in Stoke will be. Watch this space!

The uniform will have to be in corporate colours. That should be interesting!
