Confirmed: Two more agents quit crumbling IMG
mainWe hear that Gianluca Macheda, former head of IMG Italy and now based in Warsaw, left the company this week.
Macheda is still listed on the website at this hour, but his resignation has been confirmed to Slipped Disc.
His artists include two-high-earning conductors and some outstanding singers. Apparently, most or all of them are expected to leave with him.
Also gone is Grant Chaput, who looked after up-and-coming conductors from IMG’s New York office.
Is IMG’s attrition rate higher than that of the industry in general, or is it just dilligently reported in this blog?

Interesting that when an agent leaves an agency it is always apparently the agency that is the loser. Ever consider the possibility that an agency might be better off without a particular agent, if it is not a good business relationship…?
