Chailly is not in good health.
That is not true. He has long-standing cardiac issues about which he has been admirably transparent.
Things are absolutely NOT going well – audience and orchestra hate him -, but his political lobby is so powerful and Pereira so weak, that the new contract was signed.
But thing are changing much more rapidly than Chailly and his wife guess…
