We’re saddened to learn of the death of Lois Cohn, a long-serving, unusually agreeable head of press at Carnegie Hall and subsequently at the New York Philharmonic, rising to be head of marketing.
Lois was 80.

Lois was an institution, an inspiration, a role model, a friend, a confidant, a mother figure. She was a standard bearer who praised you when you did well, and let you know in no uncertain terms when you didn’t measure up. She was passionate about her work and a voracious consumer of culture and news. She loved her family fiercely and lived her life graciously and to the fullest. Those of us who had the honor of working with her are blessed, and those of us who were lucky and privileged enough to be her friend are doubly so. We will never forget her, “ever-never,” as she would say.

The service will be held this Wednesday, January 18 at 4pm at Riverside Memorial Chapel.
