  • Rich C. says:

Malcolm MacDowell (L’il Alex) sung it better.

    • John Kelly says:

Mr McDowell is a professional actor who has for many years performed in public in a variety of roles. M Prats is their FIRST FLUTIST, i.e. not a professional actor or singer. Your comment is churlish and tedious. It’s a very nicely done tribute.

      • Rich C. says:

I’m guessing comedic references aren’t your suit.

        • Steven Holloway says:

I’m guessing you’re a twerp. This is a TRIBUTE to Debbie Reynolds, and a touching one. It was especially touching that M. Prats took part as the singer/danger. They gave of themselves, while you give us a pointless criticism — and please don’t now pretend you were joking. That ploy never works. If, in fact, you were making fun of this, you would just be an utter git.

        • Robert Holmén says:

Apparently they aren’t RICH C’s “suit” either.

Comedy is hard. There’s more to it than being awkward.

    • Sue says:

Shouldn’t that be “SANG it better”?

    • Dave T says:

      Stanley Donen directed it better.

      [It’s a joke]

  • NYMike says:

Very enjoyable! Nice to see OdP musicians loosen up! Good reduction from original score.

    • Sixtus says:

Agree about the arrangement. Much better than the pointless decimations of Mahler symphonies that, unfortunately, seem to be all the rage on CD.

    • Peter Phillips says:

Lovely to see them all apparently enjoying themselves. M.Prats’ footwork is nearly is nimble as his fingers on his flute. What a talented guy!

  • V.Lind says:

    Charming.

  • Paul Davis says:

Lovely arrangement, beautifully performed with obvious pleasure. M. Prats is courageous to step outside his usual position and brings it off with charm and aplomb. Bravo, all!

  • Ceska says:

    This is exquisite

  • Helen Wynn says:

This is so very charming. Glad to see them pay tribute to a dear lady, Debbie Reynolds.

  • nancy says:

an english love song, sung by a french man, becomes a song of beautiful love!

  • Jansumi says:

Charming & exquisite indeed. I bet Debbie would love it. Delightful. Very moving…

  • Dave T says:

… and Gene did Kelly better….

  • Observer says:

I would like to to point out that not only is Vicent, the singer, Spanish, he is President of the Spanish Flute Association! He’s a highly regarded solo flutist, who gives not-to-miss master classes and is greatly beloved in the European flute community.

The flute conventions he helps organize are legendary. In Sevilla 2 yrs. ago he actually convinced Emmanuel Pahud to join him onstage to play flamenco flute. It was epic!

  • Gustav says:

    And here’s the big link:

both Conrad Salinger who arranged the music in the 1952 film and the (GREAT) Robert Franklyn who orchestrated Salinger’s arrangement both trained at the Paris Conservatoire.

  • Tom M. says:

    Very sweet and touching.

  • Gustav says:

Vicens Prats has a fantastic voice.

  • Laura R says:

Very charming! He should also be a singer.

  • Jocelyne says:

    BRAVO et Merci

  • Joe S says:

VERY delightful, thanks for sharing this link. It makes me wonder, when the movie was originally released, did the French audience hear it in English or French? And if the dialogue was dubbed in French, as I suspect, what did they do about the lyrics of the songs – leave those in the original English?
