I don’t know Mr. Pichler personally but I have heard him many many times at Graz Opera house in performances such as Tosca , Der Rosenkavalier etc. and also one time with Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in the Musikverein Golden Hall, with the Vienna Mozart orchestra.

He is an outstanding clarinet player with such a wonderful sound and musicality !

My wife and I are sure and convinced that he will be a wonderful conductor, because he has an enormous personality and charisma compared with perfectionism.
And what I have heard from the musicians which played under his baton sounds really good to me.
They say that every orchestra he conducted and worked with sounded much better afterwards .

We are very happy to read that he now he will be Assistent Conductor of Philippe Jordan!

All the best to him in the Future !

    A fan from Graz/ Austria

Dear Mr Lebrecht, just a belated note in order to avoid misunderstanding. Pierre Pichler will be musical assistant to Maestro Jordan for a single project, starting tomorrow, with concerts on 20/21/22 Dec 2016. Contrary to other orchestras, the Wiener Symphoniker do not maintain a permanent position of Assistant Conductor. With all best wishes, Johannes Neubert (Managing Director)

We hear that Maestro Philippe Jordan would like to have Maestro Pierre Pichler again as his Assistant Conductor for another huge project which includes all Beethoven Symphonies (with CD Recording), right after his first project in December, 2016.

Congratulations on his success and bet wishes for further collaboration with Maestro Philippe Jordan!
