Greta Medini, a promising Italian artist, was found dead on the Salerno-Reggio Calabria motorway between Sant’Onofrio and Pizzo. She fell from a viaduct overlooking the highway.

She had apparently driven there in a red Fiat, stopped, got out and fell. More details here.

Our hearts go out to her family.

  • Max Grimm says:

Norman, she wasn’t “killed on the road”. Unfortunately she ended her life by jumping from the viaduct. (http://www.zoom24.it/2016/12/12/tragedia-nel-vibonese-giovane-donna-si-lancia-dal-viadotto-pizzo-foto-video-37995/)

RIP and may she find peace.

  • Ehud says:

So sad… why, though, do these talented young musicians get to be mentioned here only when they die, Norman? Greta Medini, Jason Miller and others were not so fortunate to have their work written about here before (!)

  • Robert Levin says:

An exquisite performance of Massenet’s Meditation from Thaïs – as beautiful as any I have heard, including many of the greats. I did not know of Greta Medini prior to this tragic post, but I wish I had.

  • Judy says:

That’s a really nice video, very well played. Too bad we only got to hear about her after these tragic news. May she rest in peace.
