The ROH has announced it is streaming 12 productions of opera and ballet to Russian cinemas this season.

It’s not clear what, if anything, the Met is doing in Russia. Click on their website for overseas webcasts and you get directed to cinemas in the New York area.

Now if they could figure out how to get them into Canada, or at least Canada outside Quebec.

  • Una says:

Wonder how much they are charging! ROH here in Yorkshire, England, is slightly more than half the price of getting into the Met at the cinema – £17 v £32. It was £23 not so long ago for the Met or something similar full price – I paid £19 as a concession price. But still … no wonder there’s hardly anyone at the Met relays up here, and ROH sold out. And then as little as only £12.75 to see live on stage Opera North, who are superb.
