Top pianist is kept waiting at railway station
mainIt didn’t take Boris Giltburg very long to find a piano at Delft station in the Netherlands.
Boris is winner of the 2013 Queen Elisabeth competition.
But what’s he playing here?
Nothing easy.
UPDATE: As correctly identified by one reader below, it’s Prokofiev’s seventh sonata – not the stuff you expect to hear in a railway waiting room.
Excellent video! I’ve seen a number of stations up north with pianos, Sheffield have two now (presumably for anyone who fancies some Rachmaninov Suites). Mind you, they could do with a proper tuner…..
Mustn’t forget that Ferrari Red Steinway they have in Munich Airport either.

Ha! Prokofiev Sonata #7! Airport music! Well, good for him! We’ve all found these beautiful little pianos nestled in the airports waiting—and waiting—and waiting for our flights. Heck, it’s nice to bring pleasure to travelers! Nice, Boris!
