Emmanuel Ceysson – him with the red harp –  has joined Mannes School of Music as professor of harp.

    They might rise, slightly, say, from zero to one or two. He is no pedagogue. His solo repertoire was limited to what was in competition requirements and stale salon music by harpists. He has no musical sophistication. His performing is self-indulgent. Yes, he won a fine position. It is shameful for our top conservatories to think that is enough to be one of their teachers. Meanwhile, real teachers go without positions.
    By the way, that photo includes the talented Mariko Anraku, who has played harp at the Met for some decades now, while recording for EMI.
