I was there. An unforgettable evening including a superb Bruckner 7 with the SOBR.
I feel privileged to have witnessed the last three seasons with many concerts of Yannick conducting world-class orchestras (and proving also that he is a fine pianist and chamber musician!).
Absolutely thrilled to have been there last Saturday. Bruckner’s Seventh was superb indeed, as was the first half with Anna Prohaska, who sang exquisitely. The whole thing was an excellent conclusion to an exciting season.
The audience’s “Danke Yannick” and the hall’s reception afterwards show that people in Dortmund still know how to do things in style. They have a fantastic hall and programme, as well as friendly staff and very witty marketing. The latter two items are rare enough in Germany.
How wonderful. He’s obviously much loved.
