  • Robert King says:

Paul was enormously cultured, gentle, intelligent, free-thinking, diplomatic yet determined. One of the “old school” of British Council arts managers, he somehow (perhaps miraculously) survived the massive changes that the BC made to its policies and ways of working. Maybe because he was so very tall, everyone had to look up to him. With his passing we lose one of the most passionate advocates and champions of British Arts, and especially British classical music.

A huge thank you, Paul, for all you did to support and champion British music across the world. Life will be so much the poorer without you.

    Requiescat in pace.
