Lovely cartoon!
but not very impressed by the piano playing, to be honest.
Gershwin is always good.
Whenever listening to Gershwin, it reminds me of the fantasy about New York City that I used to have when I was a child.
I think he’s the best and a real and successful ‘crossover’ composer who truly combined the essence of jazz and classical music.
I can’t think of anyone else better than him.
By the way, for me, the best cartoon of piano playing is Charlie Brown.
I looooooove Charlie and everything in it!
Here, Schroeder is playing the piano.

Best concert cartoon?
Well, there’s “The Cat Concerto”, and then there’s everything else.
I don’t know, Norman. I’ve always liked this one!

@Brian Hughes : yes, that Silly Symphony is infinitely more musical, and much funnier. Here are a few more favorites:
Baton Bunny (WB, 1959)
Long Haired Hare (WB, 1949)
Not to mention Mickey as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice (1940).
For operatic material, of course, there are “Rabbit of Seville” and the magnificent “What’s Opera, Doc?” – see if you can spot the musical quote from Rienzi, afficionados.
