The romantic misfortunes of violinist David Garrett have now spilled over into the German tabloids.

Garrett is being sued for $12 million by his former girlfriend, a porn star. They were together for six months.

Some readers are wondering what they had in common. We don’t remember seeing her at the Wigmore Hall, judging by her recent twitter feed pictures.

True. But then, he is not a classical musician, though average.

  • Una says:

I thought for a minute it was another Bach Cantata – Wachet Auf perhaps!!!

  • Brian says:

I see this also made the New York Post today. It sounds like they were a rather unconventional couple.

    Classy…

  • David Osborne says:

I blame Percy Grainger. He started it!

  • harold braun says:

Henryk Szeryng,Zino Francescatti,or David Oistrakh,or Itzhak Perlman never made headlines like that…
    But they were true artists…

  • Horatio says:

I’m sure that now, with this story, Universal Classics will be chasing this guy with a multimillion dollar contract. For them, he now has it all. They already dabbled with him in the past, but now they must be convinced of his true sales’ potential and the fact that he has gone completely outside the confines of the world of classical music, showed the world that a classical violinist can be as great as Justin Bieber and that he has a bright future on Decca or Mercury Classics, or why not Deutsche Grammophon? Perhaps they will also sign his estranged girlfriend, as she must have learned some musical skills during her sessions with Mr. Garrett.

    • John Nemaric says:

She was able to practice her dancing moves while…performing lap dances for him…did she?

  • Boris says:

I heard his next cd is all Chuck Berry and R. Kelly covers…..

    What a douchebag.

  • Cyril Blair says:

She wouldn’t have been wearing that at Wigmore Hall.

  • CGDA says:

One thing post 1945 is unlikely to be remembered for is ‘good taste’.

  • Mark Mortimer says:

Why everyone so priggish. He’s a good looking young guy having a good time. He’s also an excellent violinist- although probably better in his days as a child prodigy.
