Martha Argerich, Riccardo Chailly and Filarmonica della Scala have agreed to play a free, open-air concert in the Piazza Duomo on June 12, at 9.30 pm.

    Open air around sunset, near the summer solstice — that’s the sort of ambience where Katia could play in the nude.

    Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G, who would have guessed! When will these promoters allow Argerich to play other concerti? She has probably played this concerto more often than any other combined, it’s getting ridiculous. She plays it very well, but it’s boring to listen to the same interpreter playing the same piece over and over again.
