Two Boston University students have filed charges of sexual harassment against the music professor and French horn virtuoso, Eric Ruske.

The women, Erin Shyr and Maria Currie, accuse Ruske of harassing them in person and via e-mail and text messages, including asking for photos of them. Ruske allegedly harassed Currie in 2013, then Shyr the following year.

Eric Ruske is an internationally known and widely recorded virtuoso, who has taught at BU for 25 years. He has not responded to the allegations and is believed to be travelling.

Presumptions of innocence apply.

I would assume he would be suspended on full pay pending the investigation.

  • Gary Carpenter says:

You can’t prove innocence, only guilt.

  • Robert Holmén says:

Unlike charges of private groping or unusual hands-on diagnostic procedures, e-mail harassment ought to be fairly straightforward to document and assess by the appropriate authorities.

Now I am confused. I honestly don’t know who is the real Eddie Mars and who is the impostor. Maybe it was the latter who was posting all along ?

“I honestly don’t know who is the real Eddie Mars and who is the impostor.”

Easy: the real Eddie Mars has anger issues and the “false” Eddie Mars has anger issues *and* is a fascist.

    • Mathieu says:

Now that both Eddie’s and his Doppelgãnger’s posts have been deleted, maybe Norman could take down mine too, since the issue it discusses is now moot.

(First time in the history of this blog a commenter asks to be censored, I guess!)

      • Mick says:

I relish every single comment by “Eddie Mars” (methinks it’s always one and the same jerk behind them), and it saddens me deeply each time any of those gems get removed

  • Hilary says:

I’m noticing signs of mental derangement occuring in this thread.

  • Bob says:

Whatever happened with this? Last can find is that the motion to dismiss the lawsuit was denied (in 2017.)
