I don’t know why you say “it’s a Franz Welser-Möst production” about the West Side Story live-orchestra-with-film performances in Cleveland next season: they’re being conducted by the orchestra’s Associate Conductor, Brett Mitchell (see http://www.clevelandorch.com/globalassets/1617/pdfs/1617-full-schedule.pdf). This is a project devised by IMG Artists (http://imgartists.com/artist/west_side_story) that has already been successfully undertaken by many orchestras around the world, including the Boston Symphony (https://www.bostonglobe.com/arts/2014/02/15/there-place-for-bso-west-side-story/D4h52dmbECz3NiwK0PsCjK/story.html) and the New York Philharmonic (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/09/arts/music/west-side-story-orchestral-film-screening-review.html).

The orchestra will have fun with Alain Altinoglu. He’s superb.
