Sofya Tsygankova, pianist wife of the Cliburn gold-medallist Vadym Kholodenko, will appear in court in Fort Worth today charged with the murder of their two daughters. It is reported that a pillow was found near the children’s heads.

Police say Ms Tsygankova visited a mental health facility in Tarrant County, Texas, the day before the children died. An empty bottle of Quetiapine, an anti-depressant drug, was found. Ms Tsygankova was covered in blood from stab wounds. Her attorney says she will plead not guilty.

It sounds like a very tragic affair all round.

Seroquel is a heavy-duty medication used for treatment of schizophrenia or bi-polar disorder in addition to major depressive episodes. It sounds like this woman may have had some very serious problems after the birth of her last child and was under treatment but something went horribly wrong. My sympathies go out to Mr Kholodenko…

    RIP two girls.
I might be wrong, but a question. Khorodenko is the one brought them there then filed divorce there and hoped himself to be a free bird. What was his responsibility or priority? Sorry no sympathy to him, but to her. Sad.
