It’s Benjamin Millepied’s parting gift.

The fashion icon will kit out George Balanchine’s piece ‘Brahms-Schönberg Quartet’ at the Paris Opéra this July, Women’s Wear Daily reports.

    Presumably this is “Gift” in the German sense?

    But the glossies will be all over it, praising his ‘talent’. Should shift a few tickets, in the absence of genuine ability, though.

    There’s a huge difference between designing for fashion and designing for the stage. Theatrical costumes exist in a different scale, and a gifted theatrical designer makes subtle comments about the characters and their relationship with each other. In ballet, especially, the ability to move is paramount.
