Budget airlines backtrack on violins

Norwegian, having graciously permitted violinists to carry their instruments on board, now refuses to let them be stowed in overhead lockers. See here. Norwegian promptly rejoin the Slipped Disc blacklist.

Air Berlin, which also caved in to pressure, has been hedging its bets. Our latest report from them, via Fiona Stevens, is: ‘We ask you for a little more patience. We assure you that we will publish our policy regarding the carriage of musical instruments shortly.’
