  • William Safford says:

This is a virtuous use for the funds.

But I wonder if maybe the money should instead have gone to the musicians’ union, to assist the next orchestra that is locked out.

I disagree…using the money from the dissolution of their non-profit is both a literal and powerfully symbolic gift, representing healing better than perhaps anything else they could have done.

It is important to pay forward.

The Minnesota Orchestra musicians went through a great deal in their travails.

I did not donate to the Minnesota Orchestra musicians. Perhaps I should have.

I did donate to the Atlanta Symphony musicians.

There will be another lockout. It’s just a matter of time. I’m sure they will need support.

Amy chooses to take my comment out of context. However, in doing so she has opened the door to another question…just what does happen to a band that locks out Mozart? :-0
