We’re getting reports that Ibrahm Maalouf, a star trumpet player who is due on stage at the Barbican tonight, has been detained by immigration control at the Gare du Nord in Paris.

Ibrahm is a nephew of the writer Amin Maalouf. He is a French and Lebanese citizen.

We have no further information at this point.

Ibrahim Maalouf was briefly held by border control in Paris while they checked his passport.

I’m pleased to be able to inform you that he was then released to travel on a later train and is now at the Barbican rehearsing with his band for a sold out concert tonight as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival http://www.efglondonjazzfestival.org.uk

  • Neville Young says:

Only two hours? But he had a TRUMPET!
