Last night’s episode of Law and Order: SVU (season 17, episode 6) came with the following synopsis:

A violinist is raped by her colleague, who doesn’t remember committing the crime and claims he was drugged and robbed by a hired escort.

Sound familiar?

Change the sex of the violinist and you have this:

Remember Stefan? He’s still awaiting due process in New York.

stefan arzberger

  • Simon Evnine says:

==still awaiting due process in NY

So has he not been allowed to leave the country? With loss of earnings and assembling a legal team, it must be costing him a fortune !

  • Simon Evnine says:

As one of the posters in the earlier thread wrote

“I sure hope, for Stefan Arzberger’s sake, that someone drew blood from him for testing at the time he was arrested.”

    • william osborne says:

Unfortunately, date rape drugs such as Rohypnol are specifically selected because they disappear from the blood quickly.

  • Scott Fields says:

The subplot was inspired by Arzberger’s case. The theme of the Law and Order series is “rippled from the headlines.” But the changes were naked guy from “German string-quartet violinist” to “Russian classical-pop flutist” and victim from “80ish previously unknown woman assaulted” to “sexy electric violinist in the backing group raped.”
