Don Mulvaney – a composer, drummer and allround musician who played with many great artists including Itzhak Perlman, Bill Frisell and Barbra Streisand – has died at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, a month after suffering injuries in the road crash that killed his wife, Ledell, and daughter, Katharine.

Don Mulvaney, 63, graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston and received a master’s degree in music composition from the State University of New York’s Purchase College. He was a regular player in Broadway shows and offbeat bands and an allround activist for musical, educational, church and social causes.

Tributes are pouring onto his Facebook site.

Our condolences to the family.
