Matthew Bourne lead dancer is killed on his way to work
mainJonathan Ollivier was knocked off his motorbike accident on Sunday morning as he was riding in to dance in the final show of The Car Man at Sadler’s Wells. Jonathan, who was 38, had the role of Luca. He had previously starred in Bourne’s all-male Swan Lake.
The driver of a black Mercedes saloon that collided with Jonathan’s bike has been detained in custody.
The final performance of The Car Man was cancelled.
The London dance world is in shock.
I am extremely sad to hear this news.
Jonathan was an excellent dancer, a committed artist and a man of refreshing integrity.
