Six months ago, Tine Thing Helseth cancelled all forthcoming concerts due to exhaustion.

We hear the Norwegian trumpet virtuoso, 27, is almost ready to return. But she plans to combine her performing career with a role as a concert host on the national broadcaster, NRK. Click here for the first variety show (hear Tine play at 24:00). You’ll need to speak Norwegian to get the banter.

A Nordic Andre Previn in the making?

    Typical Norwegian mediocrity.

  • Caleb Young says:

She is booked for the Cabrillo festival this summer in Santa Cruz!

  • Patrick says:

    Jon…. Please explain.

  • Greg says:

A fine trumpeter, but no superstar. I may even so bold as to suggest that her initial splash on the scene had more to do with her looks than her playing. She does not look like your typical classical trumpet soloist (Alison Balsom aside). She is good enough to hold her own, but she is not in the league of many of the other acknowledged masters in the field. Still, I wish her well and hope that she has a successful career.
