US orchestra in shock over death of young assistant
mainWe have been informed that Nicolas Sluss-Rodionov, chorus manager of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and a talented singer and organist, died last night at the age of 33. He was in a car crash on March 20 and had been in intensive care ever since.
Nic’s title was Production Assistant and Chorus Manager. He was scheduled to be the bass soloist in this weekend’s MSO Chorus concert.

Our hearts mourn for our Nic, he was such a vibrant, talented, and caring young man. His life touched so many people in such a positive way, and had an amazing sense of community. He was deeply loved.
Nic touched many people’s lives and I thank him for being apart of mine. You will be missed you my good friend and colleague.
Nic was the organist at the First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa 8:00 AM Sunday service and one of the reasons I found that service so fulfilling. All of us appreciated his shy smile when we would compliment him on his musical ability. He was a wonderfully talented young man who will be truly, truly missed.
Dearest Nic, you will be greatly missed at First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa. Your talents, your enthusiasm, your love of our Church Family will be denied us but our memories of you will be forever.

i had the joy of working with Nic, when I served at a church in Tosa. An incredibly talented person, and a genuinely good and honorable human being. Rest in Peace, Nic.
I remember Nic when he came into the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus family. He was a true talent and was always upbeat. His smile always made me feel good. Now he is among the singing angels. Nic, may you rest in peace and rise in glory!

I just found out about this horrible loss. I had the pleasure of singing with him in the chorus for only a short time but remember his kindness and willingness to help anyone well. Praying he is at peace.
