Small question: if he’s a rock star, what’s he doing on a boutique classical label?

Comments

  • Jeffrey Biegel says:

Congratulations, Johannes! I look forward to stellar releases with interesting repertoire!

  • V.Lind says:

Fabulous on all fronts: artist, conductor, rep. One for the collection.

  • Beatrice says:

the expression is stupid – but a “boutique label” if serious as Pentatone is preferable and more clever as a choice to many others…
He could have signed with Naxos 🙂 !

  • Michael says:

It would seem that “rock star” was being used as an adjectival phrase, meaning more good-looking, young and up-and-coming than a new Mick Jagger! It’s sad that any attempt to broaden the appeal of classical music to the young is mocked – why shouldn’t he sign to a so-called “boutique” label?
